PALO ALTO, Calif. - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- The Young Global Leader (YGL) Gender Parity Conference will take place October 20th, 2014 at Stanford attracting an invitation only attendee roster of business executives, tech entrepreneurs, community leaders and members of the Stanford community.  Organized by YGL Silvia Console Battilana, CEO & Co-Founder, Auctionomics, the conference will kick off with a keynote by Al Roth, Nobel Prize Winner in Economic Sciences and Young Global Leader Leila Janah, Founder and CEO of Samasource.  Following the keynote, there will be a discussion on the “Future of Philanthropy Through a Gender Lens” with Facebook’s Chief Marketing Officer Rebecca Van Dyke, Executive Director of IDEO.org Jocelyn Wyatt, Catherine St-Laurent of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Pam Scott of The Curious Company and Patricia Devereux of the MasterCard Center of Inclusive Growth.

In the afternoon, Jaime Nack, a YGL and leading entrepreneur in the sustainability industry, will lead a session entitled “Our Legacy Depends on Building a Pipeline of Future Leaders” focusing participants on initiatives that build capacity and inspire the next generation of women leaders in business, politics, academia and the nonprofit arena.

“Many of the gender gap and gender parity initiatives focus on placing successful women leaders in positions of power and influence – women on boards, women as CEOs of major corporations, women in public office and women as award winners (Nobel Laureates, etc.). As we work to create an eco system that supports gender parity at the highest levels, we can't forget the importance of building the next generation of leaders,” Nack commented.  “I invited Esperanza Garcia to co-present the session and bring her perspective as a millennial and rising star who has demonstrated leadership in engaging fellow youth around global issues such as climate change.”

The session will take attendees on an interactive journey of mapping out new initiatives using the “brainswarming” technique developed by Dr. Tony McCaffrey and most recently popularized by Rochelle Bailis’ article in Forbes.
