By: American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) There were numerous productive meetings during the trip, including an opportunity to sit down with representatives of the China Safety Engineering Education Accreditation Commission. This commission was established in 2008 and falls under the non-government, non-profit China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA). Currently, CEEAA accredits over 35 engineering program types that include safety-related and environmental- The delegation attended the 7th China International Forum on Work Safety where Nicole Greeson co-presented with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) on “Public Supervision of Workplace Safety through Accreditation and Certification.” ABIH and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) also co-sponsored an Industrial Hygiene Forum in Shanghai. CIHs from across China and those interested in learning more about the CIH program attended. “There is tremendous growth potential for ABIH and the CIH program in China and beyond,” said Nicole Greeson, Vice Chair of ABIH. “This trip allowed us to meet with high-ranking Chinese government officials, educators, and industrial hygiene professionals from across the nation.
