ICEF, in partnership with BOSSA, launch the China Education Agent Course (CEAC)

The China Education Agent Course (CEAC), created by ICEF and the Beijing Overseas Study Service Association (BOSSA) was launched this week at a special signing ceremony between ICEF CEO, Markus Badde and BOSSA President, Peng Sang at ICEF Beijing.

Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- BOSSA is China’s largest agent association, representing 69 of the 419 state-endorsed study abroad agencies and operates with the advocacy of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.

Created to support excellence and professional standards in international education for Chinese study abroad advisers, this comprehensive course covers:

•    Understanding of the international education market and the main student destination countries
•    Skills to analyse destination countries and their education products and processes
•    Dealing with students, education institutions and governments, including education systems, regulatory systems, legal requirements, student visas and student care
•    Promoting International Education
•    Ethics

The CEAC is the third of ICEF’s agent training initiatives and is based on the successful ICEF Agent Training Course (IATC), developed with the input of 769 agents in 113 countries and 437 education institutions in 78 countries around the world and subject to regular review by its international Advisory Board.

The CEAC is delivered online in a self-paced modular format with a 90 minute formal exam at its conclusion. Testing will take place at the 200+ Pearson Vue testing centres throughout China. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 80% to qualify as a China ICEF Trained Agent Counsellor (CITAC).

Agents who successfully pass the CEAC test will receive certificates from ICEF, BOSSA and the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS). In addition, qualified agents will benefit from recognition online, both on the ICEF and BOSSA websites. This makes it easy for students, education institutions, researchers, and governments across the world to contact qualified agents in China.

"The China Education Agent Course represents the dedication of the Chinese government, BOSSA, and ICEF to ensuring agent quality in China,” Markus Badde, CEO of ICEF, said at the ceremony. “We ae all extremely committed to supporting Chinese education agents to professionally represent both the interests of international students and their educator partners. We are confident that the CITAC status will fast become a recognised distinction of quality and professionalism in China and abroad”

BOSSA President, Peng Sang made the following comment about the launch of the course:  “CEAC will be the study-abroad market's quality standard and will help develop the management of agencies. Our new partnership with ICEF is illustrative of BOSSA's efforts in serving future consumers; in addition to aiding government-related law enforcement departments, consumer queries, agency assessments, and more documented evidence and practices in accordance to the law.”

The China Education Agent Course is now open to agents in China. Further information about the CEAC can be found at http://www.icef.com/agent-training/ceac.html
