RICHARDSON, Texas - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Talking Jack-O-Lantern will be the project of the day at the October 25, 2014 Kidstarter program.  So what will your child’s Jack-O-Lantern say?  “I’m glowing”, “Where did my insides go?”, “Ouch, you cut me” or “Light me up, baby”.  Just imagine what your Pumpkin might say.

You dim the light and record your own voice. Your pumpkin becomes an electronic talking pumpkin lantern.  The bulb and speaker will be installed in the pumpkin and the controller will dim the light.  Bring your imagination and your pumpkin!

DFW Excellerator has developed this program to encourage the creativity of these children and be mentored by others in the technology and engineering field.  The program will be held 2:00-4:00pm at the DFW Excellerator Idea Lab, 1201 International Pkwy, Suite 200, Richardson, TX  75081.  Parents are encouraged to come with their children.

Children exhibit creativity and exploration in various ways and at different ages.  Capturing and nurturing this imagination is a critical point in guiding the experiences and direction a child will take.  A natural interest in science, technology, engineering and math can be developed at a very early age, even as early as elementary school.

Register for the upcoming event on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/talking-jack-o-lantern-ticke...), and to see an example of a Talking Jack-O-Lantern visit Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1473381166273019&amp...).

Jason Liu, Founder and Managing Director of DFW Excellerator says,  “We love to see how kids can combine the creativity and engineering together to create something unique, that’s the vision we have for the KidStarter”

Encouraged to exhibit and express their creativity, these children excel in life easier, as they have experienced success at an early age.  The KidStarter program aims to nurture a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in kids age 6 and up, by way of fun cooperative building sessions.  Sharing a Saturday afternoon with your child is a great way to foster this creativity, create confidence and share positive accomplishments with your children.

The STEM Education Coalition works aggressively to raise awareness in Congress, the Administration, and other organizations about the critical role that STEM education plays in enabling the U.S. to remain the economic and technological leader of the global marketplace of the 21st century.  Members of the STEM Coalition believe that our nation must improve the way our students learn science, mathematics, technology and engineering and that the business, education, and STEM communities must work together to achieve this goal.

The central mission of the STEM Education Coalition is to inform federal and state policymakers on the critical role that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education plays in U.S. competitiveness and future economic prosperity.  For more information about STEM, visit www.stemedcoalition.org
