Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Heil Sound, Ltd., a leading manufacturer of microphones and headsets for the amateur radio and communication industry, has announced the launch of their Heil PRO 7, a military grade headset that raises the bar for headset design and application.

Company founder Bob Heil, long considered an expert in the amateur radio market and host of TWiT.TV’s popular “Ham Nation” said, “Several leading amateur radio operators, commercial airline and helicopter pilots as well as emergency Net control operators were involved in the design of the Heil PRO 7. Comfort was of prime importance and we accomplished with thick gel foam earmuffs and gel foam filled pillow top headband. Adjustable thumbscrews assist users with proper placement of the speakers. The end result is an extremely comfortable headset.”

The PRO 7 offers a feature set that compliments the Heil Sound standard for headset design.  Passive noise reduction is rated at -26dB making the PRO 7 ideal for use in high ambient noise environments. The speakers are designed for maximum voice articulation and feature a unique phase reversal system, which creates a spatial widening of the sound field. This feature makes it easier to pull a weak signal from a pileup – useful for DxPeditions and contests. A speaker balance control allows preferred level between the speakers.

The Heil PRO 7 headset ships with one of two interchangeable microphone elements. The HC 7 dynamic element recreates the highly acclaimed HC -5 speech articulation response while the IC 7 is the high output, high quality condenser element for the low level iCOM front ends.  These elements are easily changed in the field.

The cable system features reinforced wiring with a military grade outer jacket. The PRO 7 connects to the standard Heil Sound AD-1 microphone adapter system so one headset can be easily moved onto different radios. A very rugged momentary 2” PTT switch is supplied.

The PRO 7 headsets are available in four colors, black, blue, red and pink. Retail price is $276.00 U.S.
