FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Mike was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where he spent most of his life up until he left college. While growing up, his dad worked three jobs in order to support the family. From this, Mike says the learned the importance working hard at the things he cares about.

Mike attended the University of Texas at Dallas. While there, he learned how to effectively manage his time by identifying high leverage tasks and focusing on them. This ultimately led him to graduate with a dual major in marketing and entrepreneurship. Mike credits his drive and focus in college for his future success when starting Urban Events, Inc.

Once he had completed his degree, Mike immediately started working in the marketing and promotions industry. Initially the amount of traveling wore him down. “Being on the road was very tiring at first,” he said. “But I was able to interact with a lot of leaders around the industry this way, which really inspired me to push forward with my dream to open my own marketing office.”

Mike started Urban Events, Inc. in 2013 so that he and his team could use innovative marketing methods to make a significant impact on the industry. Of course, like many businesses, the start of Urban Events, Inc. was not totally smooth. “The first few months were definitely rocky while we found our footing,” said Mike. “But our entire team worked really hard and before long we pushed through and found our way. It was really rewarding to know that our hard work was paying off.”

Although the beginning of his company was tough, Mike advises young entrepreneurs and business people in general with this advice, “Never lower your standards, and never give up on your goals. Stay true to what you want to accomplish and eventually you will succeed.”
