TieCON SouthWest 2014 - Umang Gupta, Shobhaa De, Dhiraj Rajaram to Keynote

Apart fom luminary keynotes such as Umang Gupta, Dhiraj Rajaram, and Shobha De, the conference has mulitple tracks to cater to attendees. The list of tracks include  Entrepreneurship, HollyWood, New Trends in Technology and VC track.

The entrepreneur panel is being led by Neeraj Bhavani. The panelist include Ravi Patel, Feyzi Fatehi ,  Harbhajan Singh Samra and Kristen Mangers. Ravi Patel is the  founder of Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Centers (CBCC) and owns several cancer clinics in Bakersfield, CA and Gujarat, India. Feyzi Fatehi is the CEO of Corent Technology – a leading technology provider in the Cloud space. He has over twenty five years of experience building high performance teams at HP and three software start-ups in Silicon Valley and in Southern California that commanded over $1 billion in valuation. Harbhajan Singh Samra is popularly known as the Okra King of California. Today his 200+ acre farm in Indio (California) has an annual turnover in tens of million dollars per year. Kristen Mangers founded WebVisible, one of the pioneers in local online advertising, utilizing a software as services platform to help local businesses acquire new customers.

New Trends in Technology is moderated by Gunjan Bagla. The panelist include  Vacit Arat, Cliff Boro, Gopal Raghavan and Ravi Verma. Gunjan Bagla is a India Business consultant who client list includes Clorox, Kraft, Covidien, J&J etc. Vacit Arat is the founder and CEO of PeeqSee a social platform. Clifford Boro is a Managing Partner of the Team Group, a venture-development firm that invests, advises and supports startups and entrepreneurs. Dr. Gopal Raghavan Co-founded Inphi Corporation in 2000 and served as its Chief Technology Officer from January 2001 to February 18, 2011. Ravi is the founder and CEO of Spectral Platforms, which  has developed a new biomarker for the rapid detection and characterization of pathogenic microorganisms in blood, urine and CSF.

Smita Bagla, Co-Chair says, "It is the quality of the speakers and panel that draws the attendees. The attendees are able to meet distinguished experts who are willing to share their learnings and experience and act as mentors."

The Hollywood panel is moderated by Sushil Tyagi. Panelist include Dane Allen Smith, Reshma Dordi, Stephen Scharf, T R Babu Subramaniam. Sushil Tyagi is the founder of craft beer companies in USA and India,- and President of Tricolor Films. Dane Allan Smith is a producer and visual effects supervisor for 60 films including Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Spider Man etc. Reshma Dordi is the host and producer of a Showbiz India, a television program that focuses on entertainment from South Asia. Steve Scharf is a partner in O’Melveny’s Century City office and a member of the Entertainment, Sports and Media Practice. TR Babu Subramaniam is an American director and assistant director, best known for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The VC Panel is moderated by Tarang Shah. Panelist include  Sunil Bhargava , Alex Suh, Buck Jordan,  and Vishal Lugani. Tarang Shah is a mobile, digital media & SaaS investment banker. Sunil is the Founder and Managing Entrepreneur with Tandem Entrepreneurs, a collection of hands-on entrepreneurs who have built multiple successful businesses. Alex Suh is a founding Managing Director with California Technology Ventures, LLC, a Southern California venture capital firm that focuses its investments in the fields of Life Sciences and Information Technology. Buck Jordan is an experienced finance, entertainment, consulting and M&A professional with over 10 years experience in the management consulting, marketing, aerospace & defense industries. Vishal Lugani is an Investment Professional at Greycroft. whose responsibilities include evaluating investment opportunities, sourcing new deals, and working with existing portfolio companies.
