SeaDwarf® Seashore Paspalum Selected for Putting Greens at the Olympics

 
Oct. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Avon Park FL: SeaDwarf seashore paspalum has been selected as the grass for the putting greens at Reserva de Marapendi in Barra da Tijuca, the site of the golf championship for the 2016 Olympic Games.

SeaDwarf is a patented, proprietary turfgrass grown for the Olympic Games by Green Grass Brazil under license from Environmental Turf, Inc.  It was developed as a turf for putting greens and other turf venues at Alden Pines in southwest Florida by Stewart. T. Bennett.  When notified that SeaDwarf was selected Bennett said "I'm proud and excited" to know that it will be a part of the historic 2016 Olympic Games.  The CEO of Environmental Turf, Wiley McCall, said " it's the perfect choice for the new course in Rio."
