Most Common Automation Mistakes Made Examined in No Risk Automation Magazine

Oct. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- The October 13th issue of No Risk Automation, a monthly e-news publication, discussed the top three mistakes made in automation selection. These mistakes include: not concentrating on the details, believing that the technology or the guidance is important, and failing to prepare a written specification of what is wanted and needed at the distribution center (DC) or manufacturing plant floor.

This month’s newsletter also explored the differences between automation at the DC versus manufacturing plant floor. In both environments automation is simply used to move product from place to place safely and in an efficient manner. The real difference between the two environments is in the number of applications and the complexity of those applications.  The real winner for automation is manufacturing, due to the sheer number of movements of products and the ease with which transportation can occur.
