Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Celebrates Make A Difference Day at the Salinas Clubhouse

MONTEREY, Calif. - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- On October 25th, millions of volunteers across the nation will unite with a common mission – to improve the lives of others. For more than 20 years, USA WEEKEND Magazine, in collaboration with Points of Light, has promoted Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC), in partnership with the Gannett Foundation and the Salinas Californian, will celebrate Make A Difference Day by inviting community volunteers to complete special improvement and maintenance projects at the Salinas Clubhouse.  These projects will enhance the Club experience for thousands of youth and their families who depend on the programs and services of the Club facility every day.

Staff and community volunteers will meet from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. at the Salinas Clubhouse (85 Maryal Dr). Projects will include planting flowers in the garden, painting the Teen Center, organizing storage spaces, cleaning carpets, and much more. Lunch will be provided.

Those interested in participating in Make A Difference Day should visit www.bgcmc.org or call (831) 394-5171.
