The Inn at Honey Run to Donate 65 Honey Bee Kits from Honeycombs for Honey Bees

MILLERSBURG, Ohio - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- The Inn at Honey Run will donate 65 honey bee kits to families in developing nations, the result of September’s pledge to donate a kit for every stay in a Honeycomb room. The Amish Country hotel planned to use the promotion to help raise awareness for the importance of honey bees in agriculture.

“Bees are important to us in Holmes County, and especially at The Inn at Honey Run, where we plant pollinator-friendly gardens,” said Jason Nies, owner of The Inn at Honey Run. “We wanted to do more to help farmers and the honey bee population.”

Between the sale of honey products and increased farm yields, a successful hive can be a way for family farmers to make their farm more productive and sustainable. The kits donated by The Inn at Honey Run are provided by a nonprofit organization and include everything necessary to raise and care for the bees.
