BOSTON - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Somerville, MA….Cancer Research Simplified (CRS) rolls out its CRS Youth Program™ Education Series with blogs on important topics that support information they need to know, such as exercise, nutrition and diet, psychology of cancer, and healthy habits for youth worldwide.

“Youths starting from 10 years old can benefit the most, as they will make healthier choices by viewing our easy to read and understand educational pictures, similar to what we’ve currently, successfully implemented for adults. Our educational materials are highly sought-after worldwide,” says Dr. Ayguen Sahin, CEO and Founder of Cancer Research Simplified. “Through this educational program, youth will lessen the chances of cancer by avoiding bad habits that are frequent causes of cancer, such as smoking, bad nutrition in their daily diets, lack of a restful sleep, and lack of exercise, all of which are important for a healthy body. And I am not only saying this as a cancer researcher, but also as a former high-performance athlete!“

Although the program is only three days old, it attracted already parents and youth from Germany and Turkey, and a 20-year old athlete from Luxemburg, all interested in learning more about healthier life-style options for either themselves or their children.

The CRS Youth Program™ Education Series is an extension of the CRS Youth Program™, which aims to provide cancer research scholarships for high school students worldwide to develop the next generation of outstanding cancer researchers.

Megan Parsons, CRS Youth Program™ Director and neurobiology concentrator at Harvard University, will be in charge of this program, from the youth education initiative to appointing scholarships for cancer research exchange opportunities for high school students. “I look forward to engaging new demographics in our cancer education efforts,” Megan says, “and empowering the next generation to make wise decisions regarding their health and wellness.” She is also excited about the CRS Youth Program™ Scholarship, and reflects fondly on memories of her own cancer research experiences in high school. “My summer spent doing cancer research in high school was an incredibly formative experience that shaped my future career interests. I hope to enable current high school students to pursue these opportunities as well by alleviating the financial burden on students and their families.”

The CRS Youth Program™, the latest innovation by CRS, demonstrates the devotion of CRS’s all-volunteer group, which, over the course of only a few months, has created its official journal (The Journal of Simplified Cancer Research, JSCR (http://www.cancerresearchsimplified.org/the-journal-of-si...)); posted numerous videos on all types of cancers and related information; produced its own television show in collaboration with on the Somerville Cable Access TV station, which is streaming on Channel 3 every Thursday at 9AM EST; and created its multi-language www.cancerresearchsimplified.org, website, currently containing individual blogs in six languages  – all of which makes the organization unique to all other cancer organizations. Blogs on this program and others can be found on www.CancerResearchSimplified.org/blog.html
