Then, I actively seek out qualified candidates through a variety of job boards and social media sites.” Once Michael has a few prospects in mind, he schedules about six to eight interviews with a personalized email. “It’s important to be as friendly and personal as possible in these emails. If I’m interested in an applicant, it is likely that other organizations are as well.” After the interviews, Michael narrows his choices down, but always leaves himself two potential options. “First choices are great, but things don’t always work out that way.
