Hartmannsdorf, October 10th, 2014

The Broadband World Forum will take place from the 21st to the 23rd October 2014 in Amsterdam on the exhibition ground RAI. At booth H30 ELCON will introduce the following new solutions to optimize Broadband Access Networks:

The Business Intelligent Gateway 5530 (BIG 5530) is a revolutionary way to migrate ISDN voice services for small or medium enterprise customers. The BIG 5530 can be offered at a very attractive price, which enables telecommunication providers a positive business model to switch off existing outdated “TDM“-based technology and to offer an All-IP switching technology for ISDN voice services for end customers. Up to eight ISDN S0 gateways can be migrated onto SIP-trunks, while the customer can still use his existing telecommunication infrastructure. Being a world class leader in clocking and synchronization, ELCON also offers high-quality voice and fax services for business customers. The BIG 5530 can easily be integrated in any end customer´s telecommunication network after a WAN gateway by using a simple configuration file.

With the Remote Powering System RPS 1600 telecommunication providers can easily and efficiently power network elements in FTTx networks or „Small Cell” applications. By using the existing copper network, street cabinets or other network infrastructure can be remotely powered within a radius of six kilometers. No need for digging, no need for laying extra cables, no need to contract with the local power utility companies. The remote powering system consists of a power source (PSC 1600) and two different sink systems PSR 0800 and PSR 0400. One PSC 1600 can feed two PSR 080 or two PSR 0400. The modules can be connected with a maximum of eight copper twin wires and secure powering of the connected network infrastructure even if local power is disrupted.

With the 1000 series from ELCON the capacities of FTTH/B networks can finally be fully utilised. The 1000 series is one of the few genuine full “gigabit“ fibre gateways on the market. The extremely powerful “dual core“ processor platform allows the parallel processing of more than one broadband-dependent service. The 1000 series is offered as a fibre version (FOS 1000w) and as an Ethernet version (EAD 1000w). With this gateway the following three services can be provided in fibre networks (FTTH/B): a simple cable television service (by an optional cable-TV modem), a superfast internet access for private users and an advanced service for business customers. The 1000 series has a very impressive and innovative design (“reddot“ design award winner 2013) and is an eye-catcher for every living room or office. The integrated powerful WiFi interface makes internet browsing easy with mobile terminals.
