Katrina Foley, a political leader that cares about her community

In some cases what politicians mean by caring is nothing more than giving some evidence of emotional sympathy with the voters in their district, city or state. With Katrina Foley it means serving, first and foremost.

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- According to Wikipedia, a politician, political leader, or political figure (from Classical Greek πόλις, "polis") is a person who is involved in influencing public policy and decision making.  With political leader Katrina Foley, she not only influences public policy and decisions, but is a dedicated servant of her community.  She is determined to make her community, Costa Mesa, California, better for families.

"In my term on the Newport-Mesa district board, my focus on families was sharpened. I am proud to say that we were able to increase funding for science at every school site and double the athletics and arts budgets," said Foley in a recent commentary.

"We were able to complete or set in motion several projects to improve our campuses and their communities, including improvements to the theater and gyms at Estancia, field enhancements for baseball and softball at both high schools in the city, safety improvements on all elementary campuses, a new Costa Mesa Middle School enclave and theater, and the pending Costa Mesa High stadium.

In the next few months, the district will begin implementation of its new Signature Academy programs. These efforts will be critical to creating a rigorous academic environment and keeping the children in our neighborhoods attending our neighborhood schools," continued Foley.

As her term comes to an end  on the Newport-Mesa district board, she is now in a race to return to the Costa Mesa City Council, "because that is where the work of making the city better for families is most needed today," said Foley.

She wants to address the dearth of police officers in the city created by the current council’s years of attacking and running down the public employees. The chief of police in the city is trying to recruit more officers, but the process is slow, and it’s hard to recruit officers to walk into a hostile environment that includes pending legal action that they must pay for as soon as they start the job.

Here are a few facts (taken from http://KatrinaFoley.com), since 2011 there have been 43 police officers who left the Costa Mesa Police Department. 17 moved to other local departments like Newport Beach, Irvine, and even Beverly Hills to work with our former Chief. We are down to 98 officers from 167 when Foley was previously serving on the Costa Mesa City Council. This is just one of serious situations in the community that Foley wants to address, but it is a big one.

"My family and neighbors have personal experience with the increased crime. We want it addressed. Immediately. The only real solution is change," said Foley.

Foley wants to make Costa Mesa a Safe City for Families again.

If the residents of Costa Mesa want positive change in the future and a safer city, they need to make every effort at the polls to bring back a politican that truly cares -- Katrina Foley.
