Is “Left Behind” an Example of “Strong Delusion”?

The hugely popular Left Behind series of books, TV specials and movies (most recently with Nicholas Cage), emphasizing “the pre-tribulation rapture” among other novel beliefs, constitute an ongoing propaganda campaign on behalf of Pop Prophecy, parading before the world a contrived, Marvel Comics level presentation of Christianity contrary to its long-standing beliefs.

BERKELEY, Calif. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Pop prophecy has grown into a movement of gigantic proportions, considering its meager beginnings across the Atlantic at the Powerscourt Conference of 1825. Now riding upon a multi-billion dollar media empire, with seemingly unlimited funding, giant mega-churches in-tow, Pop Prophecy has become a formidable worldly and political influence in our time that has misdirected millions of naïve, zealous Christians (who don’t know otherwise, being ignorant of history), into an obedient army serving alien interests. Pop prophecy has also spread a shallow caricature of the Christian faith for almost two centuries. It has co-opted a growing portion of the church into supporting a geo-political agenda fully alien to its interests. The present ongoing wars in the Middle East are just the most recent tip of the iceberg: a costly engagement that has driven America’s national debt to un-payable levels, as large numbers return in body bags or sit in wards disfigured for life. The agenda is a betrayal of the very faith that has been blindly supporting it, as strong delusion grows like cancer in the church’s midst—as the Bible itself predicted.

So we ask “cui bono,” who benefits?

For those very few able to think for themselves, outside the box, there is an ominous reality unfolding that will greatly benefit those hiding in the shadows, while it pushes America over the brink. Those looking on with their eyes wide open resemble strapped passengers on a speeding train without brakes. This world-changing agenda they see unfolding before them has been prepared and undergirded by political allies, including all three branches of government in Washington, responding to powerful interests and lobbying groups. Where money and image rule, and integrity and honor are nonexistent, corrupt leaders steer their course with no regard whatsoever for the interests of the people. Aiding this is a vast army of misguided Christians (secretly despised by those who use them) who have played the role of “Useful Idiots.” The consequences of this “hidden covenant with Babylon” will be disastrous, especially to Christians who find themselves in a future world resembling that of ancient Rome when the real rulers finally step out of the shadows (this may be explored in a later Journal).

What is “Pop Prophecy?”

The latest SCP Journal entitled, Strong Delusion Enters by Stealth, reveals both the historical background and current reach of Pop Prophecy. It shows how Pop Prophecy (known to theologians as “pre-millennial dispensationalism”) was invented in the early Nineteenth Century, displacing some of the church’s basic teachings that had stood for 1800 years. It happened during an era of great social ferment, as Christian cults like the Jehovah’s witnesses and Mormons were spawning because the decimation of churches from within by the blight of liberal theology. Believers were desperate for an antidote—and Pop Prophecy teachers seemed to offer one. It is only after almost two centuries that the darker aspect of this cultish belief system is beginning to emerge. Pop Prophecy could not have taken hold during the robust and grand era of the Great Reformation when waves of conversions hit Oxford and Cambridge, when brilliant believers had far too much theological depth and wisdom to accept this contrived rearrangement of prophecy  as worthy their attention.

The in-depth, well-written, just released 76-page award-winning SCP Journal, explains how this system came to be, what it is about, and where it is headed. The SCP Journal (of the Spiritual Counterfeits Project, Inc. of Berkeley, California), known as incisive, perceptive, and independent by reputation, has just released Strong Delusion Enters by Stealth. Order it on the web, or call or write to order for $7, including shipping and handling (Please allow extra time should reprints be needed.).
