Tytho announces the successful go-live of Tytho Indirect Tax Logic (Tytho ITL)

Major multinational's EMEA branch posts 180k successful transactions in first month.

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Back in 2012, one of the world’s leading multinational corporations embarked on a program aiming to migrate from 300 ERP Systems across 8 industries to just 40, as well as to consolidate indirect tax solutions. The massive shift consists of 20 concurrent projects to automate taxes for 5 continents. For one of the industries, the Rotterdam based tax automation firm Tytho B.V. was brought in to design and implement a native SAP indirect tax solution for the EMEA region. They went live in July 2014, employing Tytho’s Indirect Tax Logic solution (Tytho ITL), which processed 180k transactions successfully in its first month.

Tytho B.V. partner Martijn van Hoof managed the project, and was responsible for the design of the solution. "With the client operating on a Principal Commissionaire structure whereby the Principal is multiple registered in both EU and Non-EU countries, the solution had to accommodate Plants Abroad and complex tax flows like ABC transactions, ABCD transactions and triangular transactions. The Tytho ITL solution takes into account more than 20 taxability drivers including the fiscal status of all parties in chain transactions.  The result is a configurable solution that can handle complex business scenarios, with fewer condition records and more control over which transactions are permitted and which are not,” says van Hoof.

Tytho is currently engaged in the second tax automation project for the same industry in the same SAP client, but for the North America/Canada region. For this, they will be employing Thomson Reuters’ ONESOURCE “Global Next” Integration for SAP and Indirect Tax Determination. This clearly marks how one business can choose to implement different solutions for different geographical areas.

Tytho B.V., with this series of connected projects, not only proves the effectiveness of Tytho ITL; it also pioneers the implementation of Thomson Reuters’ Global Next integration for SAP. Tytho will present on Global NEXT at Thomson Reuters’ 2014 Synergy conference in Washington D.C. in November.
