UN resume talks with Iran as Israel prepares for war

Big barriers appear to be blocking a final Iran nuclear agreement. Many observers believe the November 24 deadline will not be met, and the current extension will be continued until January, 2015.

BROOKINGS, Ore. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- The UN security council of the U.S., China, Russia, France, U.K., plus Germany reached a temporary six-month agreement on Jan 12, 2014. In July, 2014 this was extended until November 24. Some members of Congress have argued that the UN is on a fools errand and extensions are a ploy Iran is using to talk while they move forward toward a nuclear weapon. Many believe Iran will never give up its nuclear program through diplomacy and sanctions.

Liberal progressives who control the UN often support authoritarian anti-Semitic, socialistic, radical Islamic nations, such as Syria and Iran. They see them as a proxy for their war against democracy, private property and freedom. China and Russia buy Iran oil and construct their nuclear reactors, and sell them designs for missiles and nuclear warheads. China has used North Korea and Pakistan to help Iran develop their nuclear weapons program financed with Iran oil. Russia has provided Iran with sunburn supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles to assist Iran in controlling the Strait of Hormuz, a Persian Gulf crude oil shipping choke point.

The current interim agreement has given Iran the “right” to enrich uranium, which is the path to nuclear weapons. Iran currently has a “break out time” to construct a bomb of about two months. Knowledgeable Israelis and Congressional staffers are reporting the negotiators are attempting to push Iran’s “break out time” back to one year, or a pre-2010 level of about 3,000 IR-1 centrifuges. Iran has publically rejected any dismantlement of its current enrichment program. It is willing to freeze at the current level of 9,000 operating IR-1 centrifuge machines. Because of the gap between what is being asked and what Iran is willing to offer, it is expected the current interim plan will be extended until January, 2015.

With approximately four weeks before the conclusion of crucial nuclear talks between P5 + 1 world powers and Iran, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently declared there are demands Iran will not cross. Negotiations are limited to enrichment capacity only and nothing else. They will not discuss missile research or warhead design. They will not close the underground Fordow facility, and they will not open the Parchin weapons design facility to inspection. They want to increase their centrifuges to 190,000. These demands are a red line for Iran.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly on September 29, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “Iran wants to remove sanctions but maintain a capacity of thousands of centrifuges to enrich uranium. This would effectively cement Iran’s place as a threshold military nuclear power.

In the future, at the time of its choosing, Iran, the world’s most dangerous regime, would obtain the world’s most dangerous weapons.”  Netanyahu has stated Israel is not bound by a UN agreement with Iran.

If nuclear talks fail, or if Iran continues to talk while moving towards a nuclear bomb, Israel will defend itself. Israel allocated close to $3 billion to prepare for a strike of Iran in 2014. Netanyahu is dedicated to prevent Iran from going nuclear. Giving Iran the “right” to enrich uranium gives it a path to a bomb.

In the past Netanyahu has not been able to obtain a majority vote from his security council for a green light of an attack against Iran, because President Obama has declared it will not allow Iran to go nuclear, and the U.S. has Israel’s back. However, because the Obama administration has been week against Putin’s Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the ISIS advances in Iraq, the Israelis no longer believe the U.S. will stop Iran with military intervention.

In recent years a tight world oil market has given Israel concern because Iran has threatened to close the straight of Hormuz if Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, a surge in U.S. oil production from shale oil and the construction of crude oil pipelines by Saudi Arabia, which bypass the Straight of Hormuz, have eased some of Israel’s concerns for potential blame of a spike in world oil prices.

Senator Ted Cruz stated in May of 2014 that he believes the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is confident there is no credible deterrence from the United States to prevent the Islamic Republic from progress in its nuclear development program. After meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, Senator Cruz stated he believed Israel would strike Iran “in a matter of months”. Only God knows the future, but it appears Iran and Israel are on a collision course. Iran is developing  nuclear weapons and Israel is determined to prevent this. There are satellite pictures showing that Israel appears to have recently destroyed two buildings at the Parchin military facility in Iran. This is where Iran has allegedly been testing advanced nuclear warhead designs. Some suspect Israel has already started destroying some of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
