ATLANTA - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Bank of America Plaza is proud to be recognized as a Midtown EcoDistrict Luminary at the Green level by Midtown Alliance.  The award is given to companies and buildings that “meet high environmental performance criteria in the areas of energy, water, waste and transportation.” The Luminary program focuses on four main sustainability components: measurement, planning, performance, and encouragement.

"Bank of America Plaza is delighted to help do our part to make Midtown a great place to live and work," said Dyron Dinsmore, Senior Property Manager. "We appreciate the recognition from Midtown Alliance and look forward to continued collaboration to support sustainable growth in Midtown."

Bank of America Plaza earned the Green Luminary designation for a number of sustainability initiatives. A recent water conservation upgrade has drastically reduced water use for the skyscrapers indoor and outdoor systems, electric vehicle charging stations (http://www.boaplazaatlanta.com/announcements/electric-veh...) were added to encourage sustainable commuter options, and smart building upgrades (http://www.boaplazaatlanta.com/announcements/bank-of-amer...) to the HVAC system have increased energy efficiency.

“Midtown Alliance congratulates Bank of America Plaza for embracing sustainability and contributing to the greening of Midtown,” said Kevin Green, President and CEO of Midtown Alliance. “With your help, Midtown is well on its way to becoming one of the most sustainable districts in the U.S.”

The Midtown EcoDistrict was created by Midtown Alliance in 2013 on the heels of a major sustainability planning initiative - Greenprint Midtown - as a platform for the community to collaborate on initiatives that result in improved environmental and economic performance.  This initiative aims to position Midtown as one of the most livable, vibrant and sustainable districts in the U.S.
