Announcing the 8th Annual Northern Virginia Fall BrewFest - Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 18 & 19

By: Nova BrewFest

CENTREVILLE, Va. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- The 8th Annual Northern Virginia Fall BrewFest makes its way to Centreville Virginia’s Bull Run Regional Park. The NOVA BrewFest elevates beer tastings to a whole new level and is ready to host serious brewers and beer connoisseurs this fall. Beers for the fall festival have been crafted in styles from around the world with the dark aromas of caramel, coffee and chocolate. With the cool fall temperatures upon us, this BrewFest will be distinctly different than the Summer BrewFest. From the types of beers to sample, to the music, crafts and food vendors, expect to taste the flavors of fall!

The spotlight for this festival will be the more than 50 breweries from all over the world. If you are a fan of hand-crafted micro brews created in small batches with an interesting blend of flavors, attending the Northern VA BrewFest will be a perfect way to spend a late weekend in October.

It takes skill, patience and experience to produce craft beers and brewers take tremendous pride in their creations. Like the many small wineries that have developed in Northern Virginia, so have small craft breweries. Selecting and pairing foods with beer is becoming as popular as wine and food pairing. The Beer Joint Brewing, Leesburg, will be showcasing their specialty brews created by their brew master, Bret Kimbrough. Bret’s creations that will be available for sampling include:  Kick Bockser, a malty, nutter dark german lager with a hint of smokiness, Percheron, a robust dark malty porter with hints of caramel and chocolate, the Award Winning Catoctin Kolsch, a light delicate golden German pilsner, and winner of the 2014 Gordon Biersche Kolsch Cup, also look for 50 Cat an English IPA. There is definitely something for all beer lovers at the fall Nova BrewFest.

Back by popular demand from the Summer BrewFest will be the “Cooking with Beer” demonstrations that will take place throughout the day. Selecting and pairing foods with beer is becoming as popular as wine and food pairing. Not only is craft beer great for pairing with food, it can also be a main ingredient in preparing specialty food items.  New this year to the Fall BrewFest is a collaboration between Starr Hill Brewery, The Guiding Knife, and military chef Joe Mariano. Chef Joe Mariano has been working diligently with the Culinary Education Company, The Guiding Knife to develop special recipes for this fall’s BrewFest. They will be performing live cooking demonstrations with specially developed recipes using beer as the star ingredient. Items will include: Chili, Beer Caramel Corn, Double Platinum roasted squash with curry soup, Love the Trifecta Salad, Northern Lights Brined Ribs with Jomo BeerBQ sauce, Love braised kale, Double Platinum BeerSotto (beer & cheese risotto). You can check out the live demos at the beer stage throughout both days, October 18 & 19th.

New to the BrewFest for Fall will be the First Annual Cornhole Tournament.  Cornhole, the beloved outdoor game best enjoyed with a beer in hand and good company, seems like the perfect fit for the Brewfest. Details can be found on the Nova BrewFest website.

A ticket to the Nova Brewfest gives you a special commemorative beer tasting glass and 6 tickets for tasting your choice of craft brews. But this festival is not just beer sampling, it is a fantastic day to bring out the entire family. There will be food, music, activities for the kids and for our sports fans, don’t worry you won’t miss the big game! We will have a special Sports Viewing Tent and will show all the top games throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. We will also have music with some of Northern VA’s top bands performing throughout the festival. For those looking for some early shopping, we have several crafters that will be onsite as well.
