Follow on Google News | Goodwill CEO Tom Feurig to Step Down at End of 2014Chief Operating Officer Rick Evanchyk appointed as Feurig’s successor
Under Feurig’s leadership, the Southwest Florida Goodwill agency has made major strides in organizational growth, persons served, community collaboration, and innovative programs and services that carry out Goodwill’s mission. After careful deliberation, the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida has officially appointed Rick Evanchyk, currently the organization’ Feurig will continue his term as President and CEO through 2014. Evanchyk will officially take over in January. During Feurig’s tenure, the organization has seen the creation of programs like the Goodwill L.I.F.E. Academy, Job-Link and Mobile Job-Link, The SWFL MicroEnterprise Institute, and Pathways to Opportunity, to service the most vulnerable and also the most underserved populations in our community. Feurig also fostered key partnerships with the United Way, Trailways Camp, and Sled Hockey, to extend the reach of Goodwill’s mission in the community. Feurig also endorsed the transformation of the organization’ On the back end of the business, Feurig executed a number of processes to ensure sustainable practices that would reduce landfill waste while demonstrating good stewardship of donated items. “Tom has led our Goodwill into tremendous growth and financial stability,” says Goodwill board chairman Michael Sullivan. “Under his leadership, our agency has grown from about 300 employees to over 800, and from serving just over 5,000 people through our programs and services to well over 30,000 people each year. He truly has made our Goodwill the organization of choice for helping people with disabilities and disadvantages.” Evanchyk is a proven operational, fiscal and Human Resources leader with experience in non-profit and for profit administrative management, retail, and international and sales operation management. In the last 10 years working for Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Evanchyk has increased the organization’ In addition, Evanchyk instituted succession planning as a vehicle to prepare Goodwill employees for upward and increasing responsibility.
