Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Launches Adopt-A-Family for the 2014 Holiday Season

Local Businesses and Individuals Support Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Kids and Families through Purchasing Holiday Gifts

MONTEREY, Calif. - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) launches their annual Adopt-A-Family program on October 23rd.  Each year during the holiday season, BGCMC chooses in-need Club members and their families to be a part of the Adopt-A-Family program.  This year, over 100 families have been selected from the Seaside and Salinas Clubhouses as well as from extension sites at La Paz and El Sausal Middle Schools, the CHISPA Sea Garden Community in Castroville, and Fairview Middle School in Gonzales.

Over the years, there has been overwhelming response from the community to participate in this program and bring holiday joy to families who need it most.  BGCMC invites local individuals, families, and businesses in the community to participate by shopping to purchase the needed items for the families or by donating funds or gift cards to be used in purchasing gifts for the families.

Those interested in adopting a family are provided with a list of much needed clothing items for the children as well as a wish list of items to purchase, including books and toys. All gifts must be dropped off at the Seaside Clubhouse by December 9th. Gifts are wrapped by volunteers and delivered to the families in time for the holidays.

Supporters can also volunteer to help wrap presents. In 2013, 105 volunteers wrapped over 4,000 presents that were given to more than 400 children for the holiday season.
