NeoMetrix Technologies, Inc. Expands 3D Printer and 3D Scanner Sales in Atlanta, Georgia

3D printing, which has historically been used for rapid prototyping, is finding its way out of the design office and into manufacturing.  Also known as additive manufacturing, 3D printing can be used to fabricate end-use parts for commercial sale, as well as for molds, jigs and fixtures to manufacture additional parts.

3D scanning on the other hand, can also be used in both the design office and manufacturing floor as well as in quality control.  Parts can be scanned in order to create new CAD data where none currently exists, or to compare manufactured parts to their original design for quality control applications.
