Wichita Dental Office to Open Dental Assisting School

WICHITA, Kan. - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- With an occupational growth rate higher than the national average, the number of dental assistants between 2012 and 2022 is expected to reach a 25% growth rate. A local dental office hopes to be responsible for a large portion of those new assistants.

In January 2015, Wichita Family Dental, owned by Drs. Chuck Pierson, Caren Windle and Brett Begnoche, will open the doors to their first 10-wk long, dental assisting program. During the course, along with receiving basic life support and x-ray certification, each student will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive hands-on training and 30-hours of guarantee paid employment.

The program will be housed in a section of Wichita Family Dental’s facilities, perfectly accommodating classroom, while creating a great environment for hands-on learning within the practice’s operatories.  “The school will help dental assistants feel confident and fully-trained when entering the dental field… Our practice prides ourselves in having the latest technology and equipment, offering students a running start”, according to Ash Baker, Lead Instructor of the program.

The office performs many of its routine procedures with state-of-the-art technology, allowing their current practicing staff the chance to use innovative techniques to restore and maintain the health and overall appearance of its patients’ smiles.

Wichita Family Dental will host a free informational seminar, Saturday, December 6 at its office, located at 9339 East 21st N. Staff and instructors will provide a detailed description of the course objectives and answer any questions prospective students and their families might have.

The seminar is open to anyone interested in starting a new career, or a change from their current one. Wichita Family Dental hopes to appeal to upcoming and recent high school graduates, as well. Currently, the class schedule is set three times a week, with two evening weekday classes, and a Saturday morning class. This flexibility allows those wanting to begin a career in dentistry the opportunity to fit the program in with their day-to-day life.

For more information regarding Wichita Family Dental’s Dental Assisting Program, or to reserve a seat in the free informational seminar, please contact Ash Baker at 316-630-9339.

Wichita Family Dental has been serving the Wichita community and surrounding areas for over 15 years. Doctors’ Pierson and Windle established the practice and in 2011 were pleased to have Dr. Begnoche join as a partner.
