As part of 2014 National Manufacturing Day celebration in FL, FLATE, BAMA, UTBMA and Tampa Bay chapter of SME is sponsoring a screening of the “American Made” Movie on Thursday, October 16th, at Middleton High School from 5-7 p.m
 
TAMPA, Fla. - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- As part of 2014 National Manufacturing Day celebration being observed in Florida and across the nation, FLATE, the National Science Foundation Regional Center of Excellence in Florida, Bay Area Manufacturers Association (BAMA), the Tampa bay chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Upper Tampa Bay Manufacturers Association (UTBMA), is sponsoring a communitywide screening of the “American Made” Movie. The screening is scheduled for Thursday, October 16th, at Middleton High School from 5-7 p.m.

“American Made” movie documents loss of manufacturing jobs, subsequent impact, and the recent resurgence, dubbed ‘reshoring’ of manufacturing taking place throughout America. “It is an exciting time in our country’s history to once again be the world leader in creating good quality jobs and rebuilding our communities for a strong America whose effects will extend well into the 21st Century” said Kim Moore, principal of Middleton High School. The movie screening will start with opening remarks by Hillsborough County Commissioner, Sandra L. Murman, followed by the movie screening and a discussion panel.  Pasco County Commissioner, Kathryn Starkey will conclude with closing remarks. Below is the agenda:

4:30 – 5:00      Check-In / Networking

5:00 – 5:05        Welcome & Introductions: Kim D. Moore, Principal,          Middleton High School

5:05 – 5:10     Opening Remarks: Sandra. L. Murman, Commissioner,          Hillsborough County

5:10 – 6:30      Movie Screening: American Made

6:30 – 7:00      Manufacturing Discussion Panel / Audience Q&A

Closing Remarks:        Kathryn Starkey, Commissioner, Pasco County

Immediately following the movie screening, a discussion panel will share ideas and efforts to support the ‘reshoring’ of manufacturing in our community. Each panel member will have a 1-2 minute opening statement addressing their part in support of manufacturing from their respected organization. Upon completion of introductions, questions will be solicited by the moderator, Kim Moore, from the audience for the remainder of the half hour discussion. Panelists include:
