3rd Boston River Run 5K Fundraiser to Take Place on November 9th

The Boston River Run raises money annually to support the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit organization helping students succeed in memory of a local US Marine Corps Corporal.

BRIGHTON, Mass. - Oct. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- The friends and family of Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus and the board of directors for the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund invite you to experience the Boston River Run 5K on November 9, 2014 benefiting the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund.

The Boston River Run 5K is a spirited, patriotic run that takes place Veterans Day weekend. The run offers a family-friendly course that welcomes runners and walkers of all ability levels. From first time 5k’ers to competitive running club enthusiasts, all are welcome.  The course is a 3.1 mile loop on the Charles River along Soldiers Field Road and Greenough Boulevard. Prizes will be given to the top three men, top three women, and top man and woman in each of six age groups. This year’s race is particularly significant as the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund expects to accomplish its three-year $25,000 fundraising mission with a special check presentation.

“We just feel like this race keeps Andy’s memory alive. We want to both raise funds to help students succeed and bring together the community to honor our veterans,” said John Narcus, founder of the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund and Boston River Run Race Director.

The race takes place at the Artesani Park, 1255 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m., preceded by brief remarks. Race awards and raffle drawing will take place at 10 a.m.

You can pre-register online for $30 until October 31, $35 on or after November 1 at bostonriverrun.racewire.com.  You may register on the day of the race for $40. Make checks payable to: Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund, 663 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02135.  All race participants will receive a long-sleeved technical t-shirt.
