Sounds of the Autumn Season at Philbrook’s Fall Fest

TULSA, Okla. - Oct. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Leaves beginning to change, cool fall breezes and the marvelous sounds of children’s voices resonating throughout the historic Philbrook Museum of Art. There couldn’t be a way to add some artistic color to the start of the autumn season. Haunting melodies surrounded the gardens as children and their parents came to spread joy in anticipation of the upcoming holiday: Halloween.

On Saturday, October 11th, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus participated in one of the most time-honored family events of the season. From singing to pumpkin carving, live jazz music to a bat show, Philbrook’s Fall Fest provided for a fun-filled Saturday for the family. The choir gave two performances during the event – one at 11:30 and one at 1:00. The choir’s repertoire this day was presented as a variety of styles and genres from multiple cultures. As Oklahoma’s premier children’s choral arts organization, Tulsa Children’s Chorus gave nothing short of a great performance.

It is this sort of community sharing and togetherness that reminds us that Tulsa has so much to offer its children, artistically. The opportunity for these kids to stand up and sing in front of an unfamiliar group of people is priceless. It instills within them confidence and an appreciation of the hard work they’ve output. It is so important to give children the chance to demonstrate their knowledge and perform their understanding of quality choral music through singing and musical excellence.
