About No Way Home
No Way Home was founded in 1990 by singer/songwriter Cindy Lou Banks and guitarist/singer Garry Valentine. The other members included Steve Gation, drums and vocals; Clem Houg, bass guitar; and Julie Bonaduce, vocals and percussion. The band was awarded the Portland Music Association's Crystal Award for Outstanding Country Act two years running and was probably the only band in history to play the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Satyricon AND the Pendelton Round Up, a tribute to their universal appeal. No Way Home is often credited with starting the momentum behind Portland's "alternative" country scene by pioneering a following in downtown rock clubs as well as country bars. Drawing on many elements while remaining firmly rooted in the country music tradition. Their CD, Gone, was critically acclaimed and was picked up by alternative label Tim/Kerr Records. About Born Again Pit Bull Rescue
BAPBR was founded by Angela Adams in 2007 as a private animal rescue, after meeting a friend's Pit Bull Terrier puppy and falling madly in love. Angela quickly began researching Pit Bull Terriers and uncovered a shocking statistic: at the time of her research, Pit Bull Terriers and Pit Bull Terrier like dogs averaged 33% of shelter intakes nationally, but in large cities, the intake numbers were as high as 40%-65%. Knowing first-hand what great dogs they are, Angela founded BAPBR to address this statistic. She has worked tirelessly to promote advocacy for these dogs, setting the example for our current BAPBR volunteers. BAPBR officially became a non-profit in 2011, and we have been expanding our business of saving lives ever since. - See more at: http://www.bapbr.org/pages.php?id=About#sthash.tt2QaK5M.dpuf
