Alfred Street Baptist Church Hosts Community Forum Sat. Oct. 11 “Lessons Learned from Ferguson,Mo"

Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. hosts FREE Community Forum on "Lessons Learned from Ferguson, MO” on Saturday, October 11 from 1pm to 3:45pm. Alexandria Police Chief and Alexandria City Manager confirmed to attend.
 
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Oct. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Alfred Street Baptist Church (ASBC) the oldest and largest African-American Baptist church congregation in Alexandria, Virginia to host a community forum on the lessons learned from the Ferguson, Missouri tragedy. ASBC’s Social Justice and Men’s Ministries invite the entire Alexandria community to participate in this all important FREE panel discussion on community and police relations as  it relates to the  tragic death of Michael Brown; the unarmed African-American teenager, killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

The panel discussion, entitled “Lessons Learned from Ferguson,” will be held from 1pm to 3:45pm on Saturday afternoon at Alfred Street Baptist Church, 301 S. Alfred St., Alexandria, Va.

The forum is an effort by Alfred Street Baptist Church and their Social Justice Ministry to facilitate discussions about how the community and police can work together and have positive interactions which in turn will prevent tragedies of this nature in the Alexandria, Virginia community and surrounding areas. More importantly, the forum will address and offer solutions to prevent these types of tragedies and incidents from occurring going forward.

This forum is FREE and open to the public, so we invite everyone to come out and participate and ask questions and address the police community and the city of Alexandria.
