SP Marketplace Announces new Forms Portal for SharePoint Office 365

A Central Place for Employees to access and submit business forms

SP Forms Portal provides a single portal for employees to access and submit business forms that drive business processes across the organization. Employees no longer have to search for the right form on a chaotic file server. Or chase down department personnel to get the right form. These are all available in a single location. Approvals and other business processes are no longer loose email streams, but rather controlled, consistently applied workflows. And time consuming re-keying of data is a thing of the past.

This new offering takes Office 365 productivity to a new level by truly bringing together Microsoft Office products, with the power of SharePoint to create a seamless business automation solution. For years SMBs have used Word, Excel and PDF as electronic forms to capture data, which mostly sat in Shared Network Storage with data locked inside. Now that data can be captured in SharePoint, and the forms can drive business processes and route the form to the right department for processing.

Forms Administration and Management

The second side of SP Forms Portal is for the Forms Administrators. From this site, they can manage new forms requests, issues, and questions through the Service Request feature. Also, they can track new form development projects and overall forms management in the Forms Catalog. New forms are setup using the Forms Routing table that controls form actions and routing without programming.

New Tools capture data from Excel, Word and PDF forms directly into SharePoint

Additionally new tools are available to map form data directly from Excel, Word or PDF forms into SharePoint. SP Excalibur and SP FormRouter allow non-SharePoint users submit forms directly into SharePoint from the native form application. These tools map the form fields directly into SharePoint lists and library meta data. Users fill out forms just as they always have, with one change, they hit a “submit” button when they have completed the form. This triggers data extraction from the form into SharePoint list fields and option the original form is attached for reference in the list or library.
