REDONDO BEACH, Calif. - Oct. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Let me start by stating that I believe there is a time and a place for Medicine and a time and place for Natural Healing Principles. The purpose of this article is to explain the paradigm that exists and how a paradigm shift may help guide one to Optimum Health.

There exists a huge paradigm between medicine and natural health principles which has been obscured. Recently, modern Medicine is using certain natural health principles to deal with disease whereas, Natural Health Principles use focused principles of Nature to balance Health and thus does not even consider the negatives disease or illness.

Natural Health Principles deal with Health as it occurs naturally, its study and application of modalities that support Natural Health as it occurs in Nature. It's focus is Health. Natural Health Principle number One is "What you focus on, manifests" commonly know as the Law of Attraction. By focusing the mind on health and health alone, the body will create what is in its vision and feelings.

Over the recent decade Natural Health Principles, which have been previously marginalized by mainstream medicine, have slowly been acknowledged and are now being co-opted by modern medicine as a treatment for disease. Pure Natural Health Principles do not deal with disease, but Health. Health is a natural state of being, observed on the Spiritual, Mental and Physical levels of an organism. Optimum Health is the perfect functioning on all levels of the Being.

What you Resist, Persists

Medicine deals primarily with illness or disease, its prevention of disease or healing of disease, an abnormal state of being.[Webster's Third International Dictionary 1961 dff. - Medicine-a substance or preparation used in treating disease](A disease is an abnormal condition that affects the body of an organism.)

Wikipedia- 2013- Medicine is the field off applied science related to the art of healing by diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. It encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness in human beings. Again, the object of attention is the disease or illness, not health.

The word medicine is derived from the Latin ars medicina, meaning the art of healing. The question arises, " What are you trying to heal?" Answer, "Illness or disease."

Healing means to make whole, restore. It is the process by which the cells in the body regenerate and repair to reduce the size of a damaged or necrotic area and replace it with new living tissue. There is no drug that can do this, only the natural healing force of the body, Vis Mediatrix Naturae. You cannot drug a body into health, only suppress the symptoms until the

natural health response of the body to heal itself occurs. So is Medicine really the art of healing anymore?

When you are dealing with a modality that claims to be Naturopathic Medicine or Homeopathic Medicine it is again not accurate according to the original definitions of Naturopathy and Homeopathy. The focus is still disease or illness. According to the natural health maxim, "what you resist, persists."

Here exists an oxymoron and it is important to understand that using natural substances to treat illness or disease is still the practice of Medicine, which is acceptable in many cases, but not a complete shift of focus.

The Practice of Medicine today is still primarily the treatment of disease, not curing disease. It is far more lucrative to treat/suppress symptoms than to remove the cause of the symptoms.

In the modern term for Naturopath Medicine, the use of natural herbs and modalities to treat symptoms is preferred to Allopahtic Medicine which uses often fatal, toxic drugs with LD ratings. LD ratings stand for the Lethal Dose that kills 50% of the test subjects. Unfortunately in some instances, Naturopathic Medicine has lost some of its effectiveness by practicing medicine instead of true Naturopathy as outlined by Dr. Benedict Lust, MD. Dr. Lust who brought the Kneipf Water Cures from Germany and renamed it Naturopathy explicitly stated that Naturopathy and Medicine should never be mixed because of the paradigm. There is a time and a place for both.

The same holds true for Homeopathic Medicine as practiced by MD's as opposed to traditional homeopaths who address the person rather than the disease.

You are not obliged to bring into your experience, medicine/disease/illness, through the law of attraction because someone else( the Medical Profession, television, newspapers, internet, magazines, etc.) did.

Nutripathy

Nutripathy, an offspring of the true Naturopathy, is the paradigm shift. The paradigm shift is to selectively focus your attention on health as a natural state of being. Health is perceived as a concept of a perfectly functioning body, mind, spirit integration and how the perception that being truly healthy feels. Often "fake it before we make it" applies here. This may be accomplished by stating an affirmation in the present tense without any negatives or addressing a pathology. E.g Do not say - " I am not catching a cold/flu/illness."

Rather say, "I am healthy, energetic, clear headed, vibrant, etc., etc.." and remember emotionally what it is to feel that way. Emotions fuel the creative thought processes.

Be, Do, Have

BE IT (Emotionally) first, DO IT (Physically) whatever is needed, HAVE IT (Gratefully) whatever you are creating.

This is the simple, yet extremely powerful method of attaining, maintaining and enjoying your natural state of being, Optimum Health.

Be Well Sal D'Onofrio, D.D., D.N.
