American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Recognizes Optimal Patient Care at Templeton Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Oct. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Twin Cities Community Hospital (http://www.twincitieshospital.com/) announces that its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Definitive Observation Unit have received the silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) on September 7, 2014.

A significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and healthy work environments, the Beacon award recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units that achieve this three-year (2011-2014), three-level award with a “gold,” “silver” or “bronze” designation meet national criteria consistent with Magnet Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.

The silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence for Twin Cities Community Hospital signifies that the departments demonstrated continuous learning and effective systems to achieve optimal patient care. The departments earned silver by meeting criteria in five categories: leadership structures and systems; appropriate staffing and staff engagement; effective communication, knowledge management, learning and development and best practices; evidence-based practice and processes; and outcome measurement.
