Moss & Associates awarded Plymouth Hotel and Ansonia House renovation

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Moss & Associates, the Fort Lauderdale-based construction firm, has been awarded the construction contract for the Plymouth Hotel and Ansonia House projects. The $14-million additions and renovations of the two Miami Beach historic hotels will total 64,000 SF.

The project will consist of a floor addition on each hotel and full renovation of both buildings, while protecting historic elements. The renovations will include 109 guestrooms, two bars, restaurant, kitchen, lobbies, common and back-of-house areas, pool, and site work.  Both hotels are part of the Think Hotel Group, based in Miami, and owned by Hunter Gellin, Mark Shemel, and Shawn Vardi.

The Plymouth Hotel, at 336 21^st Street and completed in 1940, will be converted into an 89-room boutique hotel. The Ansonia House, at 318 21^st Street, will be transformed into an all-suites boutique hotel with 20 rooms. Architect Kobi Karp of Miami has designed the renovations. The project is already underway and is scheduled for completion in 12 months.

The properties are among four acquisitions Think Hotel Group recently made on 21^st Street just west of Collins Avenue. Earlier this year, the real estate development and hospitality company opened Boulan South Beach at 2000 Collins Ave. and South Beach Hotel at 236 21^st Street. All of the group’s properties border Collins Park in the heart of the Miami Beach cultural district.
