Pathbuilders Launches Largest Percepta® Class

ATLANTA - Oct. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Ninety-seven women from more than thirty-five companies have been initiated into the 2014-2015 Pathbuilders Percepta® program in Atlanta. Percepta is a six-month cross-company mentoring program for women with proven track records of professional success who have mastered the technical aspects of their jobs and are ready to have greater impact on their companies. Percepta prepares new and aspiring managers to deliver results in complex work environments through an integrated and proven methodology that combines mentoring, interactive workshops and peer networking.

The 2014-2015 class orientation took place on October 7, 2014 and will run for six months concluding with graduation in March 2015. Core program curriculum includes developing a corporate image and persona, mapping career paths, identifying skill gaps, improving communication skills, building credibility and influence, and understanding the unwritten rules that guide an organization. Upon graduation, Percepta alumnae are ready to take on additional challenges and manage more significant key initiatives, projects and teams within their companies.

“The women who participate in Percepta have been identified as high-performing and high-potential women within their organizations, and we look forward to helping these professionals get ready for the next step in their careers,” said Helene Lollis, president of Pathbuilders.  “Skills such as giving and receiving open feedback, managing results, and understanding a corporate culture aren’t always competences learned throughout the course of a workday. Our intention with an impactful professional development program is to have it stem from real-world experience in the business environment.”

The matching process is equally as important and is handled by the Pathbuilders team after interviewing each mentee and mentor. The matches are based on the mentee’s developmental needs.   Percepta mentors are all graduates of Pathbuilders Achieva® – a program focused on mid-level female leaders who are positioned to be emerging executives in their organizations.  They come from diverse roles, functions and organizational backgrounds.  The women who volunteer as a Percepta mentor value the mentoring experience and want to give back to those that are following behind them.

Over the last 10 years, Pathbuilders has graduated more than 600 mentees through the Percepta program, many of whom have experienced a solid track record for improved performance upon completion. Participants from companies such as KPMG, Turner Broadcasting System, AutoTrader.com, Georgia Power, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Junior Achievement of Georgia have shared professional successes, and both mentees and their managers highly recommend Percepta as discovered through formal surveys at the conclusion of each program class.
