Tom Tillery to present Sea-Change: Planning for Same-Sex Couples Post-DOMA

ATLANTA - Oct. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- In 2013 and 2014 the Supreme Court issued rulings on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. As a result of these rulings, and ongoing changes in many states allowing for same-sex marriages, the personal financial planning process has become more complex. Same-sex couples need competent and informed advisers to help them navigate the regulatory morass and the personal financial planning process. Additionally, existing financial plans need to be reviewed in light of these changes.

In this presentation, Tom Tillery will:
•  Give an overview of the Supreme Court decision in the Windsor ruling and the current integrated planning environment in the U. S.
•  Create a 'triage' work flow for firms working with same-sex couples.
•  Review how the Supreme Court's rulings apply to employee benefits, estate planning, income tax planning, financial independence and retirement planning.
