Follow on Google News | Local carpenters build wheelchair ramps for fellow memberBy: IKORCC Paul Duritsch, a 25 year member of Local 1090, has multiple system atrophy, a neurological disorder that impairs the body's involuntary functions, and needs ramps to access his home. Four members from Local 2 Member Action Committee (MAC) volunteered to construct the wheelchair ramps for Duritsch. “I want to say thank you to Local 2 for building the ramps at my house,” said Duritsch. “I could not have built them on my own, and I am very appreciative they were willing to spend their weekend on a project that has made a huge difference in my life.” “Helping others is at the heart of the IKORCC,” said Rich Fletcher, IKORCC Representative. “We do volunteer work as often as we can, and helping a fellow member makes this project very special to us. It means a lot when we can do something to improve someone else’s life, and we are honored we could do that for Paul.” For more information about this project, please contact Rich Fletcher at rfletcher@ikorcc.com.
