L.A. Wolves FC Kicks off UPSL Season with 6-0 Victory over So Cal Troop

TORRANCE, Calif. - Oct. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- October 6, 2014 – Torrance, CA – The L.A. Wolves FC (http://www.lasoccernews.com/amateur/amateur2.php?article_id=12595)  (1-0-0) kicked off the 2014/15 United Premier Soccer League season with a bang by scoring a 6-0 victory at home at Toyota Park in Torrance, Ca.

L.A. Wolves Midfielder Sory Kieta opened the scoring for the Wolves in the 22’ minute off a nice cross from the left side from Forward Andre Turoldo to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead. The Wolves struck again to take a commanding 2-0 lead on a nice thread ball from Wolves Midfielder Rhys Hoenes to Colombian  Forward Luis Trujillo who hammered the ball into the back of the net beating the So Cal Troop keeper to his left. Shortly thereafter in the 38’ minute, Wolves Irish Midfielder Jamie Duffy was taken down in the box and Duffy converted the PK making it 3-0 which is where the score line finished going into half.

The second half was much the same as the first half with the Wolves dominating possession and also adding a few more goals to preserve the win. L.A. Wolves  Midfielder Diego Turoldo added two second half goals in the 65’ and 78’ minute, on nice individual efforts while Wolves young talent Paco Olivares capped the scoring with a nice shot in the 85’ that beat So Cal Keeper from the top of the box on the left making it a 6-0 score which is where the match ended.

Costa Skouras Head Coach of the L.A. Wolves stated, “The boys played well tonight and moved the ball around as we wanted to stay focused on a one and two touch game. This was a good match for us in terms of keeping our flow moving but we are going to have some very tough matches in the coming weeks so we need to move on from this game and prepare for a different type of opponent.
