Information Security Forum to Examine Risk Management in a Cyber World in Upcoming Webcast

Managing Director Steve Durbin Will Review How Organizations Can Ensure Consistent Alignment Between Security, IT and the Business Around Risk Management
By: Information Security Forum

NEW YORK - Oct. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- According to the Information Security Forum (http://www.securityforum.org/) (ISF), a global, independent information security body considered the world's leading authority on cyber security and information risk management, organizations of all sizes are constantly taking risks and it’s challenging for a company to maximize profit, or to deliver products or services, without them. But how is it possible to determine when it is a sound business decision to accept risk or determine which are the right risks to take to achieve the desired return-on-investment (ROI)?

Risk appetite, which the ISF defines as “the nature and amount of risk an organization is willing to accept to achieve its objectives”, is fundamental to good risk management. Understanding this concept and how it can be applied can contribute to the quality of risk acceptance decisions. For example, knowing what risk the organization has already accepted provides important context when deciding whether or not to accept additional risk.

But how do you apply these principles to cybersecurity and, most importantly, how do you ensure consistent alignment between security, IT and the business around risk management?

Steve Durbin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevedurbin), Managing Director of the ISF, will answer these questions and more during this webcast as he examines how organizations can better manage risk in a cyber-enabled world.  Please register via this link (https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/9923/123161) for the free webcast which takes place on Tuesday, October 14 at 9 a.m. (ET). A recording will be available following the conclusion of the event.
