HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Oct. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Hollywood, FL — Simply put, scraping is a hassle. Standing on lumps of snow and straining to reach across the car with a tiny tool is both challenging and time-consuming. To rid their customers of this inconvenience, entrepreneurs Andy Wright and Dan Miller introduced iceScreenTM to eliminate frost and ice accumulation on windshields altogether. The iceScreenTM, an ice shield designed to defend cars against wintry elements, is crowdfunding on Kickstarter until November 9.

The waterproof shield comes in multiple sizes and is made from a lightweight, durable material that can be shaken dry. It is specially designed to fit to the car frame using high-quality, gel-like cover capped magnets to avoid scratching car paint, and it is fashioned to withstand high winds. The iceScreenTM magnetic ice shield is long-lasting and comes with a five-year warranty, though the creators are confident it will last years longer than that.

The whole ice shield can be conveniently tucked into a built-in pouch for easy storage and tossed into the car. The iceScreenTM is intended to make life easier for mothers rushing to get their children to school on time, professionals on their way to work and anyone else who has been delayed by having to scrape their windshields the morning after a night of wintry mix or even a simple frost.

“Andy and I love iceScreenTM because it is such a simple and practical product. We have worked hard to ensure that it is affordable for everyone,” iceScreenTM co-founder Dan Miller said. “We want to share iceScreenTM with everyone so that they won’t have to resort to scraping or even worse, risk driving around with frost-covered windshields once winter gets intense.”

Recently, certain states have been enforcing laws about clearing snow and ice off cars before hitting the road because failing to do so puts other drivers in danger. For instance, in Pennsylvania, neglecting to clear off snow can lead to a fine of $200 to $1,000. Simply attach the iceScreenTM the night before driving and rest assured that the law is being obeyed.

There are currently two options for the magnetic ice shield — the deluxe and standard versions. The deluxe version is available in black with a silver satin trim, and the standard version is available in black, grey or white with blue trim. On Kickstarter, the most popular special has been the Early Bird Reward, which for $35, offers a Deluxe iceScreenTM Cover plus a pair of Mirror Mittz for your side mirrors. There are 13 other rewards available at this time. To learn more about the iceScreenTM Kickstarter campaign, visit https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/218052642/icescreen-...

ABOUT THE CREATORS

Mechanic Andy Wright and computer tech Dan Miller began this project two years ago, making windshield covers in their living room. As two busy fathers, they had been disappointed with the lack of quality and functional options available in the market. Thus, they combined their mechanical and technical skills to create a high-quality but affordable ice shield, and the iceScreenTM was born.
