HONOLULU - Oct. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Honolulu, HI -- Wellness 101 TV Host A.J. Ali completed a golfer's dream bucket list goal September 24th by playing golf in all 50 states during a 101-day period.  He started in Orlando, FL on June 16th with $500 to his name and use of a logo-wrapped SUV sponsored by Melbourne, FL based Gen-X Motors.  He planned the trip, with additional logistical support coming from Maji Sports, T.R. Miller, GolfNow and New England Golf Monthly, to coincide with the launch of the Wellness 101 multimedia program he co-owns with business partner Barak Vaughn.  He has already published articles about his wellness and golf experiences at Mission Inn in Florida, Callaway Gardens in Georgia, French Lick Resort in Indiana, The Inverness in Colorado and Tetherow Resort in Oregon and plans to publish many more articles about the places he visited during the next several weeks.  He also plans to feature details of the journey in his forthcoming wellness book titled "L.O.V.E. Is The Answer."

In addition to golfing in every state during a 101-day period, Ali wanted to use the trip to promote wellness and disease prevention, two things not historically emphasized within the traditional American medical system.  He was successful in getting people in all 50 states to commit to making wellness-oriented lifestyle changes.  But it wasn't easy.  There were many times when he didn't know how he was going to get from town to town.  Each time, just enough support came through at what seemed like the last minute -- and sometimes that support came from the very people he was helping with his wellness message.  With minimal funding, the journey was difficult from the start and all the way through.  48 states and 90 days into the 50-state journey, Ali hit a major roadblock.  He had no money or airline tickets to get to Alaska and Hawaii, and he had no visible hope of completing the mission on time.  With thousands of miles separating Los Angeles from Anchorage, and Anchorage from Honolulu, the chances for success looked slim.

It was then that the former U.S. Air Force Airman dug deep, relying on his faith and using mission skills he learned while in the service.  He called on a few friends and family members, a few prospective sponsors and a former Marine to help him complete his mission.  Several people came through and on September 24th, exactly 101 days from the day he started in Orlando, Ali completed 18 holes of golf at the Ko'olau Golf Club in Kaneohe, HI -- 50 states of golf in 101 days.  Two days earlier he had teed it up at the Moose Run Course in Anchorage, AK.  And thanks to the Marine, who paid for him to stay at the Hampton Inn in Anchorage, he didn't have to sleep in the airport like he planned to do if he didn't have the funds for a hotel room.

Ali was in Los Angeles with about 10 days to go until the deadline when he received a call from his old friend Mark Andrew Zwartynski, a marketing and business development consultant.  He said the President & CEO of Erlanger, KY based Magic Nutrition, former Marine Alan Mackinder, was interested in flying into Los Angeles to meet with him for two days.  Feeling like it could be a good match and having nothing to lose, Ali said yes with the caveat that they had to be ready and willing to act right away if things felt right.  Mackinder and Zwartynski both flew in to meet with Ali and the duo hit it off like peanut butter and jelly.  Sharing a love of wellness and a desire to serve country, the decision to form a marketing partnership was easy.  Magic Nutrition stepped in to guarantee the expenses related to the final two legs of the journey, as well as provide ongoing financial support of Wellness 101 programming in exchange for being named the Presenting Sponsor of Wellness 101's events, social media and non-broadcast video content.

"A.J.'s Wellness 101 program, kicked off by his 50-state journey was amazing and I commend him for his perseverance," said Mackinder.  "He accomplished his goal with so many odds stacked against him.  His passion for helping others in an educational and fun way will help create a stronger America and a brighter future for our children.  Our new MagicMindâ„¢ Focus beverage and our protein shakes will play a big part in Wellness 101 programs.  We are happy to work with Wellness 101 to encourage America to embrace wellness."

"Magic Nutrition makes incredibly healthy natural products that need a spotlight, and we are a media company that desires to shine a spotlight on great products that truly help people to be their best," said Ali.  "We're proud to call Magic Nutrition our Presenting Sponsor.  You'll see their name next to ours on many things from this point on related to events, social media and non-broadcast videos. It's a true marketing partnership that will enable both of our brands to help many more people together than we could without each other.  As an advisory board member of 'In Honor of Our Troops,' a nonprofit organization started by another former Marine, Philip Strambler, to help military members and their families, I enjoy the camaraderie of working with former military brothers and sisters.  There's an extraordinary sense of loyalty and commitment that most former military members bring to a job, and it's that kind of person I want to work with.  Folks like Philip and Alan are great to work with because they give you the sense that they would literally carry you on their backs if that's what was needed to complete a mission.  I'm also excited about what the marketing partnership will mean to other nonprofit organizations we support such as New England based 'One For Health,' and the 'Marathon of Miracles' cancer prevention nonprofit.  We're going to help a lot of people together, especially children, service men and women and their families."

"On June 16th, I embarked on an amazing journey to promote a vision of changing the focus of healthcare in America from sickness to wellness," said Ali.  "So far, we've reached millions of people through multiple media platforms such as hosting the wellness segment of the Golf Life national TV show, appearances on numerous radio shows from Atlanta to Anchorage, and published articles through media partners such as GolfNow and New England Golf Monthly.  The 101-day journey has ended but we're just getting started."

Wellness 101 and Magic Nutrition (http://www.magicnutrition.com) plan to go back to many of the 50 states that were visited to conduct Wellness 101 Health Challenge events, build the user base of the Wellness 101 Resource Network at www.wellness101tv.com, and shoot content for Wellness 101's TV programming.  Their mutual hope is to inspire people in all 50 states to make changes in their health holistically to live better lives.
