PODS® of Tri-Counties partners with Veterans Stand Down for the third year

For the third year, PODS of Tri-Counties, a leader in the moving and storage industry, has partnered with Santa Barbara County for the “Veterans Stand Down” event on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Oct. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- For the third year, PODS of Tri-Counties, a leader in the moving and storage industry, has partnered with Santa Barbara County for the “Veterans Stand Down” event on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The drive serves Santa Barbara County veterans in need of clothing, haircuts, household items, food and hygiene products. A PODS® Container will be placed at Santa Maria Fairpark at Gate 7 to serve as a collection point for all donated items on each Wednesday in October before the event, from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m.

At the Stand Down event, Veterans, their children and spouses will be offered various services such as: showers, dental exams, PTSD counseling, and breakfast and lunch. They will be able to connect with substance abuse programs, health services organizations and with career centers. Over 150 organizations have agreed to aid the event, including People’s Self-Help Housing and the California Department of Veteran Affairs.

“PODS is willing to help in any way possible to do our part for the veterans who have served loyally to our country,” said Steve Yapp, owner of PODS of Tri-Counties. “Taking part in the Veterans Stand Down event is not only an honor, but an event the entire community should take part in.”
