Jeff Davis Home Health earns ‘deficiency-free’ survey results

JENNINGS, La. - Oct. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- JENNINGS, La. – Jeff Davis Home Health in Jennings recently achieved “deficiency-free” survey results from two independent organizations – The Joint Commission and the Louisiana State Department of Health and Hospitals, Health Standards Section.

Jeff Davis Home Health earned reaccreditation status from The Joint Commission, recognizing the agency’s continued commitment to quality and safety in home health care. To receive reaccreditation, the agency underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site survey in August 2014. A team of Joint Commission surveyors evaluated the agency for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

Established in 1988, The Joint Commission’s Home Care Accreditation Program addresses a home health care organization’s performance in specific areas and specifies requirements to ensure patient care and services are provided in a safe manner.

The Louisiana State Department of Health and Hospitals, Health Standards Section licenses health care facilities to operate in the state of Louisiana and certifies these facilities for participation in Medicare and Medicaid. Agencies are required to undergo regular surveys – typically at a frequency of every three years. Jeff Davis Home Health underwent its survey in August 2014.
