MANAGUA, Nicaragua - Oct. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Nicaragua will be showcasing its variety of frozen seafood products in the upcoming International Frozen Seafood Exhibition (CONXEMAR, for its acronym in Spanish), to be held in Vigo, Spain, on October 7-9, 2014. This event is one of the sector’s two most important exhibitions in the world and is organized by the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Manufacturers and Exporters of Fish Products and Aquaculture.

Nicaragua will be participating in the sixteenth edition of the exhibition with a delegation of seven companies that include Nicalapia, Sahlman Seafoods, Coopescharly, Camanica, Central American Fisheries, Apemac and Nicafish. Altogether, these companies will present a variety of their products, such as frozen and prepared fish, shrimp and lobster.

Nicaragua’s delegation seeks to position its products internationally and learn about the latest trends of this sector in the European market, challenges and new techniques in the production process, and fair trade. Through a tasting at the country’s booth (E7) in the exhibition, the delegation looks to offer an opportunity to discover the quality of Nicaraguan seafood.

The country’s participation in this exhibition is part of the Competitiveness Strengthening Program for Nicaraguan Enterprises (http://www.pronicaragua.org/en/newsroom/press-releases/11...), an initiative of the Government of Nicaragua with the support of the European Union to aid local companies in building capacity and increasing their competitiveness in order to penetrate key international markets. Companies interested in participating need to be currently exporting or have export potential, must be legally established and operating for at least one year, must possess the adequate production facilities, and must be able to meet the program’s financial obligations.

The International Frozen Seafood Exhibition (CONXEMAR, for its acronym in Spanish) serves as a meeting point for the entire processing branch, distributors, importers and exporters of frozen seafood products. Since its first edition in 1999, it has grown steadily in visitors and exhibitors, with a current exhibition area of 31,500 m2, and is now considered one of this sector's two most important exhibitions in the world.
