Follow on Google News | 3rd Annual Phantasmic Fall Events at Poricy ParkBy: Poricy Park Conservancy Apple Fest & Scarecrow Creation and Exhibit Saturday, October 11th, 1:30pm-3:00pm Apple Fest: Discover your favorite type of apple as you explore and celebrate the “foreign” fruit. There will be apples to taste, apples to press, apples to dry at the Apple Fest. Put your shoulder to the cider press while learning all about this versatile fall crop. There'll even have a pie eating contest! Appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by their adult). Please courteously register in advance at the Nature Center 732-842-5966, Mon-Fri 9am-4pm. MEET AT THE MURRAY FARMSTEAD Apple Fest is FREE: Donations gratefully accepted and will help support the continuing educational programming as well as being tax deductible! Scarecrow Creation & Exhibit: Embrace the fall season at Poricy Park while showing your creativity and support. Sponsor and decorate a scarecrow to be displayed at the Park. Great for families, school groups, PTA. Your Scarecrow will be proudly displayed as a supporter of Poricy Park preservation. Build your scarecrow from 2:00pm-3:00pm on October 11th during the Apple Fest, or bring your finished scarecrow to Nature Center and it will be displayed through November 11th! Scarecrow Sponsorship Levels: $35 Family/Individual $50 Community/Business $20 Friend of Poricy Park (pre-made decorated scarecrow) Haunted History Walks Sundays, Oct. 19th & 26th, 6:00pm-7:00pm and 7:15pm-8:15pm Trek through the trails of Poricy Park as your specially trained guide regales you with haunted history and mysteries of Monmouth County. Event sponsored by Jersey Shore Ghost Tours. Appropriate for adults and children ages 9+. Paid registration required in advance-limited spaces available. Walk ins, please call ahead for space availability. MEET AT THE NATURE CENTER Fee: 60 minute haunted excursion $12 adults & children over 12; $10 children ages 9-12 Halloween Haunt Friday, Oct. 24th, 6pm-8pm An old fashioned hauntingly good time at this Poricy Park favorite! Dare to join everyone at the fire pit and be entranced with spooky story telling, embark on a guided moonlight mystical trail hike. Haunted Halloween craft station and refreshments included. Appropriate for all ages – not too scary for young ones! (Children must be accompanied by their adult). Please courteously register in advance. Halloween Hullabaloo Saturday, October 25th, 5:00pm-8:00pm FREE ADMISSION This spooktacular evening presented by the Middletown Recreation Department, Middletown Arts Center and Poricy Park Conservancy includes candy, costume contests, cartooning with the Doodle Dude, haunted hayrides, a scavenger hunt and more! Be sure to bring a flash light! Hayrides start at 5:30 p.m. Costume contests for several age groups and groups of two or more begin at 5:15pm. Please arrive by 5:00pm for the costume contest age group assembly. Free goody bags will be given out to the children only upon departure. All community and summer camp programs are run by Poricy Park Conservancy, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Poricy Park is located at 345 Oak Hill Road in Middletown Township.
