Fashion Umbrella Foundation Launches Back-to-School: REFRESH Grant

BALTIMORE - Oct. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- On October 1, 2014, elementary educators of grades kindergarten through 6^th are able to apply for a school supply grant administered by the Fashion Umbrella Foundation.

The Back-to-School: REFRESH grant is a grant that will donate to students’ grades K-6 school supplies to assist them in completing the second half of the school year.  The Back-to-School: REFRESH grant serves as a supplement for students who may be at risk of failing due to a lack of basic school supplies required for educational success.

“Raising my sons as a single mom was not easy and I remember experiencing the headache of replacing school supplies before the 2^nd quarter ended.  By administering the Back-to-School: REFRESH grant we hope our donation will help to minimize the hardship faced by some parents during the school year.  At this time, we may not be able to help EVERY student, but if we can help a few I will be happy,” stated Sharan Nixon, President, Fashion Umbrella Foundation.

The Fashion Umbrella Foundation reached out to 4HumaniTEES, a socially responsible private organization in California to assist in the comprehensive structure of the grant.  Nixon knew corresponding with a seasoned organization was a key element to bring the idea to life.

“Through our development, we are honored to have collaborated with non-profits, schools, universities, local businesses and community organizations. We are always excited to help spread the message to support the cause by starting new collaborations. We look forward to partnering with individuals, organizations and artists that have triumphed over struggles while encouraging each of us to teach one another while promoting UniTee,” stated Shannon Griffin, President, 4HumaniTees.

The Back-to-School: REFRESH grant registration is available October 1^st through January 31^st.  Educators can apply for the grant through the Fashion Umbrella Foundation’s website.
