NBA Champion Trent Tucker Hosts Celebrity Bowling Tournament Benefiting JDRF

 
NEW YORK - Oct. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- NBA Champion and former three-point threat Trent Tucker will host a Celebrity Bowling Tournament on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Frames located at 550 Ninth Ave in NYC to kick off National Diabetes Month benefitting Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Red Carpet and VIP Meet & Greet will begin at 1:00pm and Tournament Play at 2:15pm.

The Celebrity Bowling tournament will include a VIP meet & greet lounge, a live and silent auction, great music, cocktails and a delicious array of food and sweet treats provided by Jala Bars and Oscar William Gourmet Cotton Candy. All participants will have a chance to bowl and compete for the highest score to win prizes. Top sponsors will have the opportunity to bowl with Trent Tucker and other celebrities in attendance which include his former NY Knicks teammates John Starks and Anthony Mason, NBA star Anthony Avent and NY Giants Super Bowl Champion Steve Weatherford, to name a few.

ABOUT TRENT TUCKER

Trent Tucker was drafted by the New York Knicks in 1982 and had a decade long career in the NBA. Tucker played for the Knicks for nine years and ended his career as a NBA Champion with the Chicago Bulls in 1993. Known as one of the premier 3-point shooters in the history of the NBA, Tucker holds the Bulls record for the most 3-pointers scored in one game and ranks fifth in the NBA with the most 3-pointers in one game. Since his retirement, Tucker worked as a broadcast analyst for the Minnesota Timberwolves and is currently a sports commentator on KFAN Minneapolis Radio. In April 2013, Tucker was named the Director of District Athletics for the Minneapolis Public Schools where he has supervisory and strategic control over all functional athletic disciplines. With 28 public schools in his scope of daily operations, Tucker is making a mark on the way sports education is being taughttoday. For the last 14 years, Tucker has hosted an annual charity event to give back to a number of worthy causes. Throughout the years, Tucker has raised millions of dollars and had some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment attend his events including Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, John Starks, Charles Oakley, Scottie Pippen, Kevin Garnett, Kris Humphries, Mike Woodson, Clay Walker, Chris Carter, Jesse Ventura, Jimmy Jam and Ron Harper. After years of hosting celebrity golf tournaments and galas, Tucker decided to switch gears and host a family-friendly bowling event.
