Need Your Dog Neutered? Get Him "Zeutered" At Zeuter-Thon!

Low-Cost Non-Surgical Canine Male Neutering Event Sunday, October 12, 2014

FRISCO, Texas - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Frisco, TX – Help make a difference in controlling the pet population and support The Shot Spot’s goal of neutering 100 dogs in 10 hours!

The Shot Spot, DFW’s premier mobile low-cost pet vaccination and non-surgical neutering clinic, will host an all-day Zeuter-Thon on Sunday, October 12, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The Shot Spot will offer Zeuterin™ at half-price, for only $100 per dog.

Zeuterin, or “Zeutering” as the process is known, is a non-invasive, permanent, safe and cost-effective alternative to surgical castration.  Zeuterin is the first compound ever to be approved by the FDA as safe and effective for neutering.

The process is simple. The dog receives a physical exam, a mild sedative and an injection of Zeuterin (zinc gluconate neutralized by arginine) in each testicle. He receives a small tattoo on his groin to show he has been sterilized, although he remains intact. The dog can resume activities in a short time.  Since the process requires no anesthesia or surgery, the injection is less expensive for pet owners and safer for the pet.

The Shot Spot and The Pet Vet @ Petco are owned and operated by McKinney residents and well-known animal advocates Amy Cox and Dr. Danny Cox, a veterinarian of 32 years.

Dr. Cox is a firm believer in the future of Zeuterin.  He explains, “Responsible pet parenting begins with each of us doing what we can to minimize the pet overpopulation problem in our country.  Over 4 million pets are euthanized each year in the United States alone simply due to no available homes for adoption. We at The Shot Spot and The Pet Vet are working to lower these numbers by offering Zeutering at a reduced price to bring awareness to this problem.  While there is no similar method of sterilization for female pets as yet, Zeutering of male dogs is and will become the preferred method to help curb this overpopulation issue both here and abroad.  We encourage all pet parents, rescue organizations, and animal advocates to get on board with Zeutering male dogs and spaying females at your local veterinarian so we can all make a difference in our future and the future of our beloved furry family members.  Every pet deserves a loving home!”
