OnBoard And KPMG LLP Call for Nominations for Prestigious Award

ATLANTA - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- OnBoard, the leading authority of Georgia public companies and a catalyst to increase female directors on all for-profit company boards, is calling for nominations for the 12^th annual Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award. Sponsored by KPMG LLP, the Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award is designed to recognize women serving on for-profit corporate boards.  These women have notable careers as entrepreneurs, corporate executives or community leaders and serve as outstanding role models for advancing the mission of OnBoard to increase the number of women in executive leadership and on corporate boards.

To be eligible, nominees must currently serve on a Georgia for-profit company board (public or private) or be a Georgia resident serving on an out-of-state for-profit company board. Further qualifications are an overall commitment to professional excellence, attainment of excellence in her business profession or in community leadership, supporting women in realizing their full potential and advocating to increase diversity on corporate boards. A panel of judges selected and appointed by OnBoard leadership and the business community will make the final award determination. The nomination deadline is October 10^th.

The recipient of the OnBoard 2014 Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award will be announced at OnBoard’s Annual Awards and Study Dinner on November 13, 2014 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.  The dinner will feature results from the Annual Board Study on Georgia Public Companies. The award is named in honor of Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans (http://www.onboardnow.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Abou...), one of the first women to serve as a director of a major American corporation. In 1934 she was appointed to the board of directors of The Coca-Cola Company, a position she held for nearly 20 years. Past recipients include:
