FEMA Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) and eLOMA services

SAINT CLOUD, Minn. - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Second Look Flood, an experienced Flood Zone Determination Company, offers the newest FEMA maps and products to help homeowners more accurately determine their FEMA flood zone. At Second Look Flood, well-trained FEMA map analysts manually research each property using multiple resources. An aerial overlay is constructed showing the property on the newest FEMA flood maps. This gives homeowners the ability to see their home in proximity to the FEMA Flood Zone.

LOMA

A Letter of Map Amendment is an official amendment, by letter, to an effective National Flood Insurance Program map. A LOMA establishes a property’s location in relation to the Special Flood Hazard Area. LOMAs are usually issued because a property has been inadvertently mapped as being in the floodplain, but is actually on natural high ground above the base flood elevation.

eLOMA

eLOMA is a web-based application that provides Licensed Professionals (i.e., licensed land surveyors and professional engineers) with a system to submit a Letter of Map Amendment request to FEMA. This tool is designed to make determinations based on the information submitted by the Licensed Professional and allow them to generate a determination from FEMA almost instantly.
