26th Annual Magnificent Midlothian Food Festival Returns to Westchester Commons on Wednesday

RICHMOND, Va. - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Midlothian, VA - Westchester Commons in Midlothian is home once again to the 26th Annual Magnificent Midlothian Food Festival on Wednesday, October 1st from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Sponsored by the Midlothian Rotary and four other Chesterfield County-based Rotary clubs, this year’s proceeds will benefit 12 local charities. The popular festival will feature live music from En’Novation, all-you-can-eat crab cakes, beef tenderloin, grilled salmon, gourmet cheesecake and more. Tickets can be bought for a $35 donation and available for purchase online, at your any Village Bank Branch, or privately through a Rotary Club Member. The Magnificent Midlothian Food Festival is fun/food/fundraiser/block party staffed by Rotarians and volunteers from area Rotaract and Interact student groups, in order to maximize their charitable donation.

The Festival’s inception came after four Midlothian Rotarians attended a Seafood festival in Gloucester, Virginia in 1987 and a few weeks later, they came up with a similar idea for a festival in Midlothian. The first event was held at Moorefield Office park in 1988 with only 200 attendees. Since that first event 26 years ago, the Midlothian Food Festival has raised over $1,000,000 (one million dollars) for local charities, and will attract crowd of more than 5,000 for 2014.
